Light & Wonder’s Subsidiary LNW Gaming Announces Facility Closure and Layoffs in Michigan
Light & Wonder’s subsidiary, LNW Gaming, has made a significant announcement regarding the closure of one of its facilities in Michigan. This decision will unfortunately result in layoffs, impacting around 100 employees, as reported in a filing by the company.
Layoffs on the Horizon
According to a WARN notice submitted to the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity in February, the facility located at 22630 Haggerty Road in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is set to close next month. LNW Gaming has confirmed that the venue will be permanently shut down, leading to necessary layoffs.
LNW Gaming has stated that approximately 92 employees will be laid off due to the closure of the Michigan facility. The layoffs are scheduled to commence on April 27 and will impact employees across various positions, including entry-level operators, game show presenters, managers, supervisors, and trainers.
The company noted that the affected workers are not represented by a union, and there are no bumping rights available for any employee.
LNW Gaming Faces Legal Challenges
LNW Gaming recently faced legal troubles in Nevada, where a judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff in a case against the company.
The lawsuit was filed by Talisman Group, represented by the Las Vegas-based law firm Bailey Kennedy. Talisman alleged that LNW had breached an existing distribution agreement by promoting a competing baccarat game called Ruyi Baccarat while leasing EZ Baccarat to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.
The judge sided with Talisman, acknowledging the breach of contract by LNW Gaming. The plaintiff’s legal team expressed satisfaction with the outcome, considering Talisman is a small gaming company that successfully challenged a major player in the industry.
The legal battle will continue in Vancouver as the parties seek further resolution.

In a separate development, Light & Wonder’s parent company announced its decision to exit the live-dealer iGaming market. This strategic move was disclosed during the company’s recent earnings call, leaving Evolution and Playtech as the remaining live casino suppliers in the US.
The management of Light & Wonder stated that they will shift their focus to other products believed to offer higher returns and better visibility compared to live casino gaming.
